CoLab-Factory

An idea conceived in 2013 by a New York City broker Shane Barbanel, who knew the newest generation had more to offer than just getting a 9-5 job after graduating from college. An idea that fosters collaboration and building dreams to make it a reality.

CoLab-Factory is an environment-conscious place located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, aka the Brooklyn Tech Triangle. It’s a state of the art facility that creates a flexible work environment and inspires its member’s best work conditions: self-starters and students can work laying down, sitting, or even standing!

CoLab-Factory is like yin and yang; it finds and fuels the balance of work and play, with 21 offices, two lounges, a phone closet, a café, three conference rooms, a mail room and a classroom. It allows entrepreneurs and startups to work hard and pursue their ambition while having the comforts to do their best work! Where else can you have this, but in the third largest central business district in New York City, where it’s expected to grow to support nearly 18,000 direct jobs and 43,000 indirect jobs?!

The concept of CoLab-Factory? It’s a place to now let others “become their dream.” The space is meant to be an assembly line of sorts, where co-workers come in and brainstorm and bounce ideas off each other to create their dream. The dream of the CoLab-Factory is to let others become their dream.

The goals of CoLab-Factory is to provide a dynamic workspace at a reasonable price point and to enhance the co-worker experience by dividing the space into work, relax, eat and drink zones. It has always been part of Shane’s vision to provide a collaborative-beehive-factory of activity in one area while maintaining an ideas-lab in another area. This is an opportunity for members to incubate to do their research, construct their ideas and draw up their business plans to make it a success.
