This WeWork location is in Harlem and is part of the gentrification of this neighborhood. I lived here from 2006 until 2011 and witnessed this first hand, it has been an uncomfortable process here, and is changing a very important and historically significant black neighborhood. Unlike other areas like Brooklyn or the Bronx this gentrification continues to feel awkward here and although it is starting to feel slightly more tolerable it still does not sit easily. This has really passed on to the WeWork location where there is a lot of focus on security. It still feels that it needs to settle in here. What I am trying to get across is the vibe of the area.
As far as the building itself is concerned the staff and really great, the building is clean and nicely presented, and although the vibe is not really their fault I can’t really give the place higher than 4 stars.
